Election statement:

Mezanur Rashid from Luton studied International Relations at London Metropolitan University specialising in diplomacy and political economy.  He has also studied postgraduate in Law at BPP Professional College of Law. He is an active member of the community and has been working for numerous charities and also as youth worker from his own initiative to help youngsters move away from drug abuse and street crime. Bedfordshire is very diverse and multicultural society and he feels that he is able to reach out to all individuals. 

He said “I am standing as an independent candidate because I do not believe in making our police force politicised. We must keep the force impartial as they face a difficult task.  If elected I will maintain a balance on the budget for the force which will be beneficial for the people of Bedfordshire, and more importantly  help reduce crime and reflect the concerns of the community.”
