Being Police & Crime Commissioner for Norfolk demands experience of leading a County level service, engaging with communities, and working with other organisations to meet people’s needs. I already have a very successful record of delivering multi-agency services across Norfolk. I know the needs of Norfolk’s different communities and who is best placed to meet them. I will integrate our Police into a whole community response that stops crime rather than just picking up the pieces after the event. I am the best person for the job.
I promise a better response to the concerns of communities challenging crime –the safety of women or anybody else targeted by hate, anti-social behaviour, the impact of drug use or street drinking, the rise in violent crime. People have a right to feel safe in public spaces. I promise to continue the fight against crime that happens in our homes – domestic abuse, child sexual exploitation, fraud, and cybercrime. We need to tackle crime where people work – violence against people doing their job, health & safety failures, and modern slavery and trafficking. I will support our Police to get the money and equipment they need, and fair pay that reflects the risks they run in keeping us safe. I will hold them accountable for using these resources to help create a safer, fairer Norfolk for everyone.
