Police and crime commissioners

Police and crime commissioners are elected by the public to ensure the policing needs of communities are met as effectively as possible and to oversee how crime is tackled in your police force area.

Tony Kearon

I’m a criminologist, with over 20 years experience of working with police forces, fire services, councils, businesses and local community groups to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour and deliver safer communities. I have chaired a successful community safety partnership, and have been involved in domestic homicide reviews and reviews of attempted homicides. I have worked with victims of crimes ranging from business crime and burglary to domestic violence and sexual assault. Work that I have done for the Home Office is now in the national police library for use by police forces across the country.

I have worked with police commissioners and councils of every political persuasion, and with a range of communities without being concerned what party their local councillors and MP belong to.  If elected I will be a commissioner for EVERY resident and every community across Staffordshire without fear or favour.

My pledges to you:

A POLICE PRESENCE IN EVERY COMMUNITY – I will invest in community policing to reassure residents and deter crime

MORE POLICE OFFICERS FOR STAFFORDSHIRE – I will fight for a real increase in the number of Police officers for Staffordshire

MORE POWERS FOR PCSOS – PCSOs won’t replace Police officers, but they need the powers to do their job effectively.

MAKING OUR TOWN CENTRES SAFE AGAIN – I’ll work with Police, Councils, businesses, drug, alcohol & mental health services to sort things out.

TACKLING ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR – I’ll invest in services for young people AND tackling persistent trouble causers.

INVESTING IN OUR FIRE SERVICE – I will fight for the funding to deliver a fully staffed service with  powers and training to deal with fires, floods and other environmental challenges.

Lend me your vote and I will serve you well!
