Despite the hard work of many officers, policing is broken in Sussex. Over 10 years of Tory leadership and austerity has left a system that is not working – especially for women, Black and Minority Ethnic people and rural communities. Crimes are going uninvestigated and it is our local community that suffers. I am speaking up for residents that are not being heard.
We need a Police and Crime Commissioner who will stand up to the Conservative government and demand better for our residents, one who will not implement government cuts to vital services without protest. We need tough justice that puts victims first: Restorative Justice.
I will:
Greens are the only party providing a real opposition to the Conservative government. Vote for me, Kahina Bouhassane, on May 6th, and let’s make Sussex Police a police for the people.
This statement has been prepared by Kahina Bouhassane’s election agent: Steve Harris, c/o Brighton & Hove Green Party, 39-41 Surrey Street, Brighton BN1 3PB.
